This spring, we returned to India for 16 days to train leaders in Manipur, India, located in the far northeast corner of the country and near to Bangladesh and Myanmmar as part of our Back 40 outreach.
A big thanks to all who gave generously and prayed fervently for us as we adventured with Jesus, experienced anointed teaching, safe travel, and wisdom as we shared with the saints in remote Halang village, and later in Imphal, the capital city of Manipur.
In the Village
In Halang, we were guest speakers for the Tangkhul Naga Baptist Convention annual conference.This tiny village swelled with 500+ conferees representing 72 churches. Among them more than 200 were twenty- to thirty-something seminary students – who filled the front rows during each session. Just imagine the multiplied impact for the kingdom of God as all these leaders return to their congregations! During the last night of the conference, Vicki and I taught together on working as a Team of Two (husbands and wives), ministering side-by-side. Pastor Ephraim Shaiza, our interpreter, did an outstanding job.
In Imphal
In Imphal, we led two sessions from the Spiritually Healthy Leader series as part PALSET (Pastors and Leaders Skills Enhancement Training) for 24 pastors, church planters and evangelists, many returning from last year when we introduced the first modules of SHL. This time our topics focused on the scriptural approach to dealing with conflict and overcoming hurdles. These fellow leaders have regular opportunities to put the material into practice as they go about their daily lives in an area filled with upheaval and political unrest. 
The multiplied impact of the Word in the lives of these brothers and sisters in northeast India is hard to calculate. Perhaps its best stated by brother Joshua Daniel, our host and coordinator of this visit: “We were really blessed by both of you and long after still the reverberating effects will be felt,” he said. “That is the power of God’s Word.”
