Last weekend you had a wonderful afternoon splashing in the pool and playing on the water slide with your kids at a local water park. You long to repeat the experience again and again throughout the summer with a season-long access pass.
And why do you want access to special deals and offers from your favorite grocery store or online vendor? To save money.
And when it comes to access to an influential politician, you are eager to share an idea or express your views in the effort to improve the way things work in your community, your state, or your nation. Personal access through a friend gives you the chance to do so.
Access gives you special admittance to events and places or insider contacts to information and people. Access to God gives you special opportunities, too.
Access Offers Light
What does access to God give you?
When Jesus died, the veil to the exclusive Holy of Holies ripped. Light flooded in.
Light dispels darkness (we light candles when the electricity goes out.) Light is essential for life and growth (consider your vegetable garden) and offers understanding (“it was as if a light bulb went off!”)
Access to God – to the Light – does the same things: it dispels the darkness of confusion, opening the door for your life and growth. As you access the Light, you develop insight. You begin to understand your inheritance in Christ.
The opposite is also true. When you fail to access God’s offer of light, you remain in darkness.
Activate Your All Access Pass
In Christ, you have an all-access pass. Not just a pass to part of the website … not just access for one summer at the water park … not just access to one meeting with a community leader.
Luke 11:36 tells us, “If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant” (NLT). In Jesus, access is not limited. You get full, complete access for all issues for all time. The statute of limitations never runs out.
There is only one catch. YOU have to activate your access pass.
With this access pass you can exchange any challenge, circumstance, joy, or difficulty in life: health over infirmity … safety over danger … rest over busyness … harmony over discord … wholeness over division …
Your all-access pass is ready. How will you begin to use it?
